I am Beautiful!

Really?

At least according to the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology - Adaptive significance of female physical attractiveness: Role of waist-to-hip ratio.

Apparently, men, in general, don't judge women as being fat or thin. Rather, men tend to consider women with a 70% waist-to-hip ratio to be beautiful. E.g., a woman with a 21-inch waist and 30-inch hips, a woman with a 24-inch waist and 35-inch hips, and a woman with a 28-inch waist and 40-inch hips are equally attractive. The 70% or higher waist-to-hip ratio, and the Golden ratio (62% waist-height-to-total-height ratio) indicate health and fertility.

My REAL stats: 40-35-50 (Confession: I have thunder hips. I lie about my stats all the time, pretending to be smaller)

70% of 50 = 35!!!

OMG! My waist is a perfect 70% of my hips and would mean, *gasps*, I'm beautiful!!!!!!!!!!! *LOL*

Who would have thought, the hips that I've been rather ashamed of, most parts of my life, actually falls under the category of beautiful. I've always thought they were too big. Probably because ever since I was 10 and hit puberty, my mom has always dissed and put me down for having big hips.

I know I should have more confidence and embrace my curves like I usually claim to do, rather than rely on the justification of a research article to prove that I really am. Even so, it is only based on men in general and it still remains subjective. And then again, you don't have to get a man's approval to be deemed beautiful. You are beautiful, no matter what they say, words can't bring you down. Heh. Christina Aguilera.
