One helluva' Week on Tap

Short work week, but I've been fighting a flu; I have to fly to Maui on Friday for a surgical consultation; and, to top it off at work, I've got three major projects due in three days in a row.

Odds that I'll be around this week? Almost nil.

Happy Furlough Friday...

I'm peacing out.

My supervising partner's kid starts her Wnter break today, so he's gone. All of the support staff have today off for "Furlough Friday" (e.g., courthouse is closed, and I type really damned fast, in any event). And, already had my meeting client this morning. To top it all off, there is a massive storm howling out of the North; a fierce tropical Nor'easter that is rather intimidating.

All of this gray, cloudy muck and complete silence in my lil' part of the boutique has led to one conclusion: Fuck it. I'm goin' home early.

Besides, I always type faster in my boxers than in slacks.

Shadow Q&A: Part One

I get a lot of questions regarding my personal life (because, the internet is fucking creepy), so I thought I'd grace you with the answers to the more frequent queries.



Where are you from, Mr. Shadow?

I was born in North Carolina, just off the reservation, where my family are enrolled, including yours truly. However, my dad was (like all good Southerners) primarily Irish --no offense to my Scot friends in the South. However, I moved when I was young, so I consider my next port of call, the State of Alabama, to truly be my "home state". Although, truth be told, I miss the good eatin' of possum and squirrel back in Appalachia.

 We owe Lynyrd Skynyrd a debt we can never repay...

Wait, you're from the South? Do you have an accent?

Usually only when drunk or trying. In those cases, accent is by and large the educated, Coastal accent of the Carolinas and Virginia. While I am loathe to admit it, I always wanted to have that cool, rolling, drawl of Georgia. I do not have it, so instead I just mock all persons with Yankee or Midwestern accents. Like everything else in my life, I make up for my deficiencies through the ridicule of others.

Are you attractive?

Thursday is moonstruck

Full moons and new moons always screw with my -already negligible- sleep. Not sure why. I think I'm just exceptionally sensitive to tidal flows and seismic events (when we had a 3.3. earthquake, 300 miles away, all night I felt weird and couldn't sleep). I don't think it's uncommon. For instance, Lux Interior, in the Cramp's confessional I was a teenage werewolf apparently has similar problems.

Show proper deference to the legendary Cramps. It is very safe to say that without the duo of Lux Interior and Poison Ivy, the current pyschobilly trend would not even exist.
