Immigrants oppose immigration
A new survey has revealed that more Asians than whites believe that immigration to this country must be stemmed.
Research commissioned by the Searchlight Educational Trust found that 39 per cent of Asians, 34 per cent of whites and 21 per cent of blacks believe that immigration should be halted either permanently or at least until the UK's economy was back on track.
Almost half of those questioned, 48 per cent, were open to supporting a new far-right party as long as it eschewed 'fascist imagery' and did not condone violence. And 52 per cent agreed that ‘Muslims create problems in the UK’.
So it would seem on the face of it that the Labour party were right to brand the people of this country who opposed immigration as bigots - but the bit it seems to have got badly wrong is that an awful lot of the bigots are not caucasian Brits!
Surely, this is clear case of the pot calling the kettle black?

Powell was (almost) right!
Enoch Powell was a great man. Possibly the greatest politician this country ever had not to become Prime Minister.
Like Winston Churchill before him, he was cast into the political wilderness. He was a vehoment campaigner against immigration and against the erosion of our sovereignty by the Fourth Reich. He was right - almost!
In 1968, he blew his political carreer with his infamous 'Rivers of Blood' speech. Now 43 years later, the general timbre has come to pass. Only this week Britain was branded as a 'safe haven for terrorism'. Let's look at what Powell actually said :
Powell is right to be concerned. Here, of course, he is talking about Commonwealth immigrants - black in particular, which is where he went wrong. No-one could have seen the threat from Islamic extremists all those years ago, but he should certainly have seen the insurge from the then Common Market countries as it took in more and more countries. Colour is not the issue; it is culture which is the problem. There are among the Commonwealth immigrants who have come to live here in the last fifteen years or so, many thousands whose wish and purpose is to be integrated and whose every thought and endeavour is bent in that direction.
But to imagine that such a thing enters the heads of a great and growing majority of immigrants and their descendants is a ludicrous misconception, and a dangerous one.
He is right that the vast majority of immigrants want to be part of this country and are law abiding. They should be embaced and welcomed - space permitting. But more worryingly he seems to hint at the threat from within that gave rise to the 7/7 attacks in London. Here his foresight is almost miraculous.
He goes on :
Well, not so much racial, Enoch, but certainly religious differences have become one of the greatest menaces we have ever had to deal with. Enoch was right about the threat but wrong about the source, but then it is easy to say this from our perspective in his future. Let's close with his most famous words......we are seeing the growth of positive forces acting against integration, of vested interests in the preservation and sharpening of racial and religious differences, with a view to the exercise of actual domination, first over fellow-immigrants and then over the rest of the population.
As I look ahead, I am filled with foreboding; like the Roman, I seem to see "the River Tiber foaming with much blood."

I hate wogs
After all this stuff about eco-fascists, I think we need a little light relief, so here's an interesting ditty by Eric Bogle.
Not very politically correct, but that's Australians for you!

Apeshit!
I'm off on holiday shortly (Yes! Again...), and have just recieved my tickets - along with a letter telling me about the latest invasion of our privacy and civil liberties.
APIS or Advaced Passenger Information System is yet another legacy from the bullshit Brown governmant foisted upon us because, of course, the Yanks have it so it must be essential for us!!
"Your airline is legally obliged to collect passenger information from all customers (including infants) who are travelling to, and in some cases from, those countries involved in your itinerary that require information, for electronic transmission to the relevant country's Customs and Immigration authorities prior to departure."
So I get a snotty letter from the tour operator telling me to go to a website and fill all this shit in. Apparently, this information will be "kept for no more than 10 years by the British Government." So now they are keeping a check on my movements in and out of the UK. I am, I might add, travelling to an EU country which, in theory, means that I don't need to use my passport (ha! ha!) so this new database gets around that one.
And if that's not bad enough, I am visitting the US for a couple of hours later in the year, so of course now I need to fill in their version - ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization). Even though I am eligible for visa waiver, I have to pay $15 to register that I am coming! I woudn't mind, but I am only changing terminals and flying straight out again.
Still, all this bullshit keeps the bureaucrats in a job and keeps track of all the plebs. Orwell would have loved it.
I'm getting a T-shirt printed : "I'm going APeshIt with ESTA" and on the back "Am I API? No - I ain't" which should impress immigration no end...
Reasons I'm Not Cheerful - part 3
Ian Dury might have been cheerful, but I bloody well ain't, so as my last offering with the Blockheads seemed to be fairly well recieved, here's a short reworking of another Ian Dury classic.
And a mighty fine backing group they make, too...

The "I" word - too hot to handle?

I've written recently about the broken society and am mindful of the recent 'bigotgate' affair. So at the risk of being labelled a bigot, let's talk about immigration....
An appalling example can be found in Leicester where my family originates from. My cousin was born there and has lived there for over 60 years. When I met him recently I was appalled to find that his attitudes on immigration could be described as somewhere to the right of Hitler! I was intrigued to find out why. He explained to me that the massive influx of immigration has completely destroyed the town that he loves. Frankly, you only have to visit Leicester to see what he's talking about.
Now don't get me wrong, I'm not a racist and I have nothing against immigrants. In fact some of the most appalling people I have met are white Anglo-Saxons and one of the most charming people I've ever met is the Asian who runs my local paper shop. But what has happened here is clear to see. The immigrant influx has completely taken over the town to the exclusion of all other cultures. There is absolutely no attempt at integration, and naturally the indigenous population resents this.
There are further examples of influx immigration here in Prescottville. On the north side of our town is a housing development of 1200 houses and still growing. These are not foreigners, but the locals who have lived here forever resent the new residents. There used to be a joke in the West Country that if you hadn't lived in a village for 40 years, you weren't accepted as a local.
In Prescottville, the view is that the newcomers push up house prices so that locals can't afford to live in the town where they were born. Presumably, if they were black or asian then they would be complaining that house prices were being pushed down. You can't win. We have lots of Polish workers here and the locals complain that they have they own newspapers and shops. Scandalous!!
But this is not a one-way street. I understand that British emigration has created similar problems in the areas of northern France and Spain. No attempt is made to learn the local language or fit in with the local people. Clearly this is a recipe for conflict and disaster.
The answer is simple. Firsty, this country cannot have an open door policy. There is no room. The country is full to overflowing. Secondly, immigrants - both macro and micro - must make an effort to fit in, not set up their own communities to swamp the indigenous.
Learn the language, dress the dress, shop in local shops. Make an effort to fit in and you might just find that people accept you. You came to live in England. You are welcome here, but don't try to convert our country into yours.
This is a lesson that perhaps could also be applied to British and American foreign policy?
